The accolade awarded by Linguascope was given in recognition of Frances’s editing and copywriting work on the Business Language Champions blog. The blog brought together schools and businesses from across the UK who were participating in the Business Language Champions programme, which brings the world of work into the classroom to demonstrate to young people the importance of language skills at work. Through regular posts the blog kept BLC project managers, schools and businesses up to date with the events taking place country-wide as part of the programme as well as sharing relevant language-related news.
Although funding for this particular project came to end at the end of the financial year, the blog is still accessible and the Business Language Champions initiative is being kept alive by the new BLC social enterprise in the East Midlands, for which Frances is also involved.
Speaking about the award Frances said:
“It is such an honour to receive this award at a time when we are telling our customers how important blogging and the social side of SEO is. I have worked with Business Language Champions for many years and it is something that I feel really passionate about so I’m delighted that the small part I have played in helping encourage young people to keep up their language skills has also been an award-winning contribution.”
